Let the festivities begin! Join us for an evening full of music, dance, and joyful tradition at our Sangeet, hosted by Neerav’s brother Achal and his wife Radha in their lush garden.
The word Sangeet translates to “sung together” from Sanskrit. Traditionally celebrated in the Punjab regions of India (where the ancestors of Neerav’s father Omesh come from), this ceremony has been adopted by many other regions as a joyful prelude to the wedding itself. It’s a vibrant celebration that sets the tone for everything to come!
The evening will kick off with the Baarat, the groom’s exuberant arrival procession. Neerav will make his way to the Sangeet venue accompanied by friends and family, with music, drumming, and lots of dancing to meet his bride and bring the two families together. Zhenya and her family and friends will be waiting to welcome them with open arms and big smiles. This is the Milni, a beautiful and symbolic ceremony where members of the two families meet and exchange garlands — a gesture of unity, respect, and the joining of families.
After these traditional highlights, we’ll move into the Sangeet, an evening dedicated to song, dance, and celebration. Expect lively performances, mehendi, great food, endless dancing, and plenty of joy under the Nairobi night sky.
